Wire EDM on heat-treated steel

This is one of the real parts cut in the Nhan Loc Phat workshop. The biggest advantage of wire EDM is that it cuts heat-treated, hardened steel that is difficult or costly to machine with conventional cutters.

Why cut after heat treatment?

Cutting after hardening means the final dimensions are not affected by heat distortion, so you get high accuracy, no cutting force or deformation, and a consistent surface through the full thickness.

Typical applications

Punches, dies and die plates; mold cores, pins and blades; hardened parts with complex profiles, sharp corners and narrow slots.
